I waited till after this last storm to reply to you. After Superstorm Sandy, my basement was continuing to flood after each rain. This is rather late, considering the fact that the work you did on our french drains was completed in November.

It has been more than we could have expected in that the dampness is completely gone, the de-humidifier never turns on, and it is almost desert-like down there.

Dear Brian:

I wanted to thank you for helping me when I truly had a desperate situation on my hands. As you know, I’ve lived in my house for three years. This year, for the first time, I discovered about 9 inches of water throughout my entire crawlspace during and after rainfall. You were one of the first people on the scene. Unfortunately, you also discovered some mold that came about due to a leaking toilet the year before. I panicked.

Your offer to me was better than any other, but I was distracted by a “friend-of-a-friend” who told me the water in the crawlspace was due to the grading of my land, and not a groundwater issue at all. He gave me a price less than any of the waterproofing companies to treat the mold, and then led me into calling landscapers. He put the “cart before the horse” and treated the mold while I was having landscapers come out to give estimates. Not allowing the water problem to be solved before the mold treatment.

After a lot of back and forth and arguing with the mold remediator, landscapers, contractors and other waterproofing companies, it was finally determined that the water was groundwater and that a waterproofing system needed to be installed. This infuriated me. I had already put thousands of dollars into the mold remediation with hopes that once the landscaping was finished (which wasn’t exactly affordable either) my problems would be solved with spending less than having the crawlspace waterproofed.

I was now in a predicament where I was possibly spending three times as much as I would have if I did not hire the mold remediation company. Needless to say, their job was left unfinished and sloppy.

That’s when I remembered your kindness, understanding and flexibility. I called you immediately. You were at my door within 24 hours with a price that I believe was possibly more fair to me than to you. I was so impressed by your courtesy, your professionalism and you efficiency. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without you. You made the job happen smoothly and quickly easing my anxieties about being taken advantage of.

The job was completed within a week of our initial conversation. Not only were your workers friendly and respectful, but they also worked until the job was done. It only took them two days to solve a problem that was keeping me up at nights for three months. They were incredible. Not only did they finish their job, but they also finished the job of the mold remediation company. I was so incredibly happy and satisfied.

I am writing to you concerning the work Brian Lepore and his company, PERFECT BASEMENT, did for our home.

In April 2005, we were preparing to sell our home; based on the recommendation of the home inspector, the prospective buyers backed out the day before closing because, quite frankly, our crawlspace was a disaster.  There was an accumulation of standing water, mold, a broken sub pump, water seeping in through the bricks and a multitude of other water damage and related problems.

We interviewed several different water proofing companies, PERFECT BASEMENT, being one of them, and they all basically had the same remediation program.  However, in conferring with Brian Lepore of PERFECT BASEMENT, he came across as the most reasonable and the least alarming of all the companies we interviewed.  His approach was very reassuring, straightforward and honest.  We were feeling hopeless and desperate and he made us feel that our problem was not insurmountable.  He guaranteed that his crew would arrive at the stated time, complete the job within the stated time frame, that there would be no hidden or additional fees and most importantly, that our problem would be rectified so as to pass a home owners inspection.

And he lived up to his guarantee!  His crew arrived on the contracted day and time, worked efficiently and effectively, with no damage to lawn or landscaping, completed the job in the contracted time, cleaned up all debris, and left without any disturbance to our family’s routine.  Brian, himself, came back to inspect the job himself!  The crawlspace was indeed PERFECT!

I have since recommended Brian Lepore and PERFECT BASEMENT to other friends in similar situations and they, too, have used PERFECT BASEMENT and are equally satisfied.

When I learned I had a mold problem in my basement, I call in 5 different Mold Remediation companies.  Right from the start, Brian Lepore was by far the most well-informed and sincere person that I had met with.  His prices were far from the lowest, but I believed that if Brian did the job, I would never have the need to revisit the problem again. Most of the companies wanted to ‘put a bandaid’ on the problem and Brian wanted to find the source of the problem. Brian was the ONLY person to guarantee his work.  Any time I called Brian with a question, he was always available day, night or evening.
